Simply one of the best artists in the novelling craft.

Agreed.  Here’s his site.

We just read Brent Weeks’ Black Prism.  We liked his Night Angel trilogy, too.
Black Prism:  Great characters.  Realistic new world centered around humans having the ability to create things from light.  This author has a knack for transparent writing, and my artist’s mind went image-happy with this colorful novel.

“Sweet Venom” by Maria J. William.

This one reminds me of how I envision “Vi” in Brent Weeks’ Night Angel trilogy.

“Inara Serra” from Firefly. (Actress: Morena Baccarin).

We are currently reading the Night Angel trilogy by Brent Weeks. Every time the “Momma K” character comes up, I picture Inara Serra (the “companion” in Firefly).
